Cornwall Beach of the Day

Cornwall, at Britain’s southwesterly tip, is virtually surrounded by sea with beaches sprinkled about much of its 300 miles of stunning coastline. This is a log of my continuing project to try to visit a different Cornish beach every day (or as often as circumstances permit), and to post a photograph of that visit as soon as possible. I have set myself no hard and fast rules, and aim to work simply within the spirit of the project. I started this project on 31 January, 2007.

Porthkidney

Another local secret, Porthkidney is not on all the maps and there are no signposts to it. You negotiate your way through a golf course and train track to reach it. This cold and dark afternoon, it is just a sliver of sand edging into sand dunes and the sea feels unsettled.
