A north coast beach, bounded by high cliffs on both sides. Wonderfully peaceful in winter even when the surfers are out. This was taken during a snatched lunch hour, munching a cornish pasty in the grey drizzly rain.
Cornwall, at Britain’s southwesterly tip, is virtually surrounded by sea with beaches sprinkled about much of its 300 miles of stunning coastline. This is a log of my continuing project to try to visit a different Cornish beach every day (or as often as circumstances permit), and to post a photograph of that visit as soon as possible. I have set myself no hard and fast rules, and aim to work simply within the spirit of the project. I started this project on 31 January, 2007.

yay portreath beach i live near there it rules
Spent 2 weeks on Portreath beach every summer during my childhood on the annual excursion from South Yorkshire. I see Gull Rock is still there! Last time I was in Portreath itself though - quite a while back now too - I wasn't impressed at all with the developments and clutter and tattiness abounding.
Oh well. Apparently it's called progress.
